POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – LARGE PARTS OF GALESHEWE
Action: Our Electrical Department is currently conducting final tests (safety measure) aimed at restoring power supply to large parts of Galeshewe.
The widespread blackout follows an explosion that occurred at the Galeshewe Substation this morning.

Action: Our Electrical Department has made strides in its efforts to restore supply to large parts of Galeshewe amid this morning’s explosion at the Galeshewe Substation.

》 Isolation of affected feeder is almost done, and once test is complete, supply will be restored to all affected areas, except the Provincial Legislature.

Action: Our Electrical Department is still busy isolating the affected panel (switch). Once completely isolated, power supply will be restored in a number of affected areas.
Cause: Explosion on the Provincial Legislature feeder (66kV transformer) at Galeshewe Substation.
Isolation: Areas being supplied from the Witdam Substation – Ramorwa, Blikkiesdorp, and parts of Vergenoeg will be the first to be back on-line.
