⚠️ UPDATE 3: EMERGENCY REPAIR WORK COMPLETED ON BULK PIPELINE NEAR SOUL CITY
* A new valve was installed on a joined that had shifted inside of a chamber near Soul City, along the R31 route. Repair work was completed in the early hours of this morning; and
• Tap pressure is expected to be at its best at midday for high lying areas currently experiencing low water pressure.
Residents are encouraged to report all water supply faults to the Call-Centre at 080 122 9010.

⚠️ UPDATE 2: MAJOR PIPE BURST NEAR SOUL CITY, GALESHEWE – TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION
The municipality is experiencing significant water losses due to a burst in a chamber on the 965mm diameter bulk pipeline near Soul City, along the R31 route.
Current status:
* The draining of the chamber is still in progress to locate the source of the leak;
* Pumps at Newton Reservoirs have been switched off to prevent the reservoirs from running dry; and
* Our internal Waterworks team will carry out repairs through late evening into the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Impact: Some areas are experiencing low water pressure and may have no supply later tonight.

⚠️ UPDATE: MAJOR BURST NEAR SOUL CITY, GALESHEWE – TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION EXPECTED BEYOND 14:00
The municipality is experiencing significant water losses due to a burst in a chamber on the bulk pipeline near Soul City, along the R31 route.
To carry out repairs, our internal Waterworks team will shut off the water supply running on:
* 965mm diameter pipeline from Riverton Water Treatment Plant to Newton Reservoirs;
* Newton Reservoirs will run on one pump whilst inspections and repairs are undertaken; and
* Draining of chamber set to take off. Inspection findings will determine repair efforts.
