Update:
1. The fault was located during trenching
2. Repair work is nearing completion, and jointing is currently in progress
3. Testing will be conducted thereafter; and
4. Once testing is successful, the power supply will be restored
Cause: The area being worked on behind the Roodepan Flats is waterlogged, and this is the source of the cable fault.

⚠️ UPDATE 3: CONTINUED POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION IN PARTS OF ROODEPAN AND JACKSONVILLE
While power supply was restored to large parts of Roodepan and surrounding areas during yesterday’s outage, a portion of Jacksonville and the bottom end of Roodepan remained without power into this morning.
Update:
The fault area has been identified, and trenching will commence. The testing team and all relevant personnel are on site.

⚠️UPDATE 2: POWER SUPPLY RESTORED TO MOST PARTS OF ROODEPAN AND SURROUNDS
The power supply has been restored to more areas within Roodepan and its surrounds.
Areas back online: Sunset Manor, Lethabo Park, Naborn Park, Ivory Park, Erwe, Gregory Park, and Mintdraft.
Areas still affected: Portion of Jacksonville and Roodepan (bottom end).

⚠️ALERT: TEMPORARY POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – MIDLANDS SUBSTATION
Areas affected: Roodepan, Midlands Farm, Lethabo Park, Naborn Par, Sunset Manor, and the surrounding areas.
Reason: 11kV trip at Midlands Substation.
Action:Electricians are currently on site to investigate the cause of the trip, and once the fault has been identified and cleared from the system, electrical supply will be restored immediately.
