⚠️UPDATE: TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – A PORTION OF GALESHEWE (TLHAGENG AND SOUL CITY) DUE TO LEAK ON 900MM BULK PIPELINE
* Pumps at Newton Reservoirs to be switched off for pressure to drop. There is a possible backflow from the 600 mm diameter pipeline. Hence, pressure remains high on the 900 mm diameter pipeline and delaying repair work on the leak.
* The Scour Valve was also opened near Gariep Private Hospital to reduce the pressure.
The municipality’s Waterworks Division is attending to a major leak on the 900 mm diameter bulk pipeline in the vicinity of Gariep Private Hospital.
Impact: A portion of Galeshewe – Tlhageng and Soul City – will experience low tap pressure to no-tap-flow. With switching off of the pumps at Newton Reservoirs, high-lying areas are to experience low tap pressure.

⚠️ALERT: TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – A PORTION OF GALESHEWE (TLHAGENG AND SOUL CITY) DUE TO LEAK ON 900MM BULK PIPELINE
The municipality’s Waterworks Division is urgently attending to a major leak on the 900 mm diameter bulk pipeline in the vicinity of Gariep Private Hospital.
Repair Work: The supply from Riverton has been switched off to allow for repairs.
Impact: A portion of Galeshewe – Tlhageng and Soul City – will experience low tap pressure to no-tap-flow.
High-lying areas will not be affected as pumps at Newton Reservoirs will remain in operation. We are pumping to Newton Reservoirs via 600 mm diameter pipeline.
