Water Supply Emergency Repair Work – Riverton to Mid Station Pipe – 30 May 2023

Emergency Repair Work: 30th May 2023, from 18:00pm to 04:00am (10hrs)

There is an excessive leak on the 600mm bulk water pipeline, between Riverton and Mid station, which must be repaired as a matter of urgency. As a result, the 600mm pipeline from Riverton to Mid station will be out of operation and Riverton will run with 2 High Lift Pumps, pumping through the 900mm pipeline only.

Areas receiving water directly from the pipeline may experience reduced pressure during this operation. However pressure will be restored to normal not later than 04:00am tomorrow, 31 May 2023.

All other water supply areas, that are mainly supplied from Newton Reservoir, will not be affected.

This emergency repair work is necessary to ensure water levels do not drop at Newton Reservoir due to water pressure lost through this leak.
