A teenager believed to be about 14 years old died in a collision between a BMW and a Polo yesterday at the notorious Kalahari Lodge crossing on the N12/R31 in Kimberley.
Two other people were also injured in the collision.
ER24 paramedics and other services attended to the incident at roughly 5pm. The boy was found lying near the Polo. Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him and he was declared dead. ER24 paramedics treated a man believed to be 29 years of age for minor injuries. It is understood that he was an occupant of the BMW and was transported to Gariep Mediclinic. A female believed to have been an occupant in the Polo was also injured. She was treated and transported to hospital by emergency services. Two other people involved in the collision were assessed and found to have been uninjured.
The accident occurred before 17:00 on Saturday, 25 June 2016.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
