Notice received from Sol Plaatje Municipality.
Kindly be advised that the Sol Plaatje Waterworks Department is currently conducting a scheduled infrastructure maintenance at our Riverton purification plant. The maintenance entails the cleaning of storage reservoirs and the servicing of our valves, on our raising mains that transport water to Kimberley, as a requirement for our blue drop compliance process. This will affect the normal purification cycle and supply of water temporarily to the Newton Reservoir. This will result in a reduction of water supply that is pumped to the Newton Reservoir until this afternoon. The drop in the water levels at Newton is intended to build up, when the process is complete. The maintenance is necessary as we approach spring and summer season when consumption of water resources will be at its peak. During this time, we ask residents to use water sparingly.
