Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%,  sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO

As of today (26 August 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports reports 12,771 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,734,973. This increase represents a 19.3% positivity rate.

As per the National Department of Health, a further 357 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 80 826 to date.

16,228,941 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.

The majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal (28%), followed by Western Cape (24%). Eastern Cape accounted for 13%; Gauteng Province accounted for 9%; Free State accounted for 8%; Northern Cape accounted for 7%; Mpumalanga accounted for 5%; North West accounted for 4%, and Limpopo Province accounted for 2% of today’s new cases.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 26 AUG 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 851 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province has a cumulative total of 79 051 people infected with COVID-19. Today’s reported cases is another single day record, surpassing yesterday’s reported cases (727).
However, it should be noted some of reported cases are as a result of the backlog during processing of test results.
Majority of today’s reported cases (316) are from the Namakwa which is the highest daily COVID-19 infections ever to be reported in a single day for the district. Pixley ka Seme follows with 198 cases, ZF Mgcawu (145), JT Gaetsewe (95) and with 91 cases while 6 cases are unallocated. Namakwa and Pixley ka Seme were mainly influenced by backlogs.
Today, there were nine (9) newly recorded deaths related to COVID-19 complications reported across the Province, that occured within the past 30 days. These new deaths are from: Frances Baard (4), JT Gaetsewe (1), Namakwa (2) and ZF Mgcawu (1) while 1 death in unallocated. The Province cumulative total deaths has increased to 1 960.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases is currently standing at 6 809.
There were 689 people reported to have recovered from the disease, the Province total recoveries breached the 70 000 mark. The Province average recovery rate remains 89%, representing a cumulative total of 70 280 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
