COVID-19 INFO
As of today (11 November 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 356 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,924,978. This increase represents a 1.1% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 17 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89,452 to date.
18,835,534 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng (34%), followed by KwaZulu-Natal accounting for 19%. Western Cape accounted for 12%; Northern Cape accounted for 11%; Free State accounted for 9%; North West accounted for 5%; Limpopo and Mpumalanga each accounted for 4% respectively; and Eastern Cape accounted for 3% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 11 NOVEMBER 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 38 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total currently stands at 92 694 people infected with COVID-19.
Today’s reported figure is a significant one, considering that the Province has been recording less than 30 new daily cases during the past 11 days (since 31 Oct).
Frances Baard and Pixley ka Seme recorded the highest infections with 10 cases each, followed by JT Gaetsewe (7), while ZF Mgcawu and Namakwa had 6 and 5 cases, respectively.
There were no new COVID-19 related deaths reported in the last 72 hours across the Province. The total cumulative deaths in the Province currently stand at 2 359.

The number of total active cases currently standing at 1 562.
The Province average recovery rate stand at 96%, representing a cumulative total of 88 771 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
