The municipality would like to advise all residents, business and schools that as from tonight, Tuesday 22 October 2013, there will be no longer any water shutdowns at night.
The Newton Reservoir system is currently at 15ft. The capacity of the four dams at the reservoir is 16ft or 263 million litres of water and water is being pumped over a distance of 16 kilometres at a velocity of 1200 litres per second from Riverton purification works
We would like to thank all for the cooperation and apologize for the inconvenience during this the past two weeks.
