POWER OUTAGES – KIMBERLEY CBD, PORTION OF NEWPARK/ALBERTYNSHOF, GREENPOINT, LARGE PARTS OF FLORIANVILLE & INSTITUTIONS POWERED FROM MACDOUGALL STREET SUB-STATION
Sol Plaatje Municipality wishes to provide an update as follows;
POWER WILL BE RESTORED IN FOLLOWING AREAS THIS EVENING:
1. Florianville – Syringa Road Sub-Station, repair work being concluded and power to be restored soonest. This, amid the sub-station having been vandalised; and
2. Newpark and Albertynhof’s Conrad Sub-Station – repair work being successfully concluded. Power supply to be restored to affected areas during this evening. This, amid repairs on faulty high-voltage cables having been undertaken.
AREAS STILL RECEIVING ATTENTION:
1. Kimberley CBD Barry Street Sub-Station covering Bultfontein Road and Stockdale Street – repair work still in progress and might continue into early hours of tomorrow. This, amid Sub-Station having been vandalised.
2. Greenpoint Sub-Station; assessment report awaited into the outage. Tree felling was done around the Sub-Station.
NEWLY REPORTED CASE:
1. MacDougall Street Sub-Station, extensive damage reported. Switchgear stolen. Our electricians have responded and indications are that extensive repair work is set to unfold. Critical facilities affected by the vandalism and theft. Police are undertaking investigations.
We wish to extend our sincere apologies to all affected residents and businesses. We would also like to appeal for continued patience whilst we are doing everything possible to speedily restore power supply.

POWER OUTAGES – KIMBERLEY CBD, PORTION OF NEWPARK/ALBERTYNSHOF, GREENPOINT & LARGE PARTS OF FLORIANVILLE
Emanating from the power outages that have been experienced in the Kimberley CBD, large parts of Florianville and portions of Newpark/Albertynhof, Sol Plaatje Municipality wishes to provide an update as follows;
1. Kimberley CBD – Barry Street Sub-Station covering Bultfontein Road and Stockdale Street is still being attended to amid having been vandalised.
2. Large Portion Of Florianville – Syringa Road Sub-Station also still receiving attention amid having been vandalised; and
3. A Portion Of Newpark and Albertynshof drawing power from Conrad Sub-Station, supplying Lionel Street, Stillerwee Old Age Home amongst other streets and sites – work is still being undertaken on the faulty high voltage cables.
Our electricians are also responding to a blackout in Greenpoint.
We wish to extend our sincere apologies to all affected residents and businesses. We would also like to appeal for continued patience whilst we are doing everything possible to speedily restore power supply.

POWER OUTAGES – KIMBERLEY CBD, PORTION OF NEWPARK & LARGE PARTS OF FLORIANVILLE
Sol Plaatje Municipality hereby wishes to inform residents and businesses of the power outages in the following areas;
1. Kimberley CBD – Barry Street Sub-Station has been vandalised and our electricians are attending to it.
2. Large Portion Of Florianville – Syringa Road Sub-Station has been vandalised and our electricians are also attending to it; and
3. A Portion Of Newpark, Area Covering Conrad And Commercial High Sub-Stations – faulty high voltage cables, assessment being undertaken by the electrical team in an effort to restore supply.
We wish to extend our sincere apologies to all affected residents and businesses. We would also like to appeal for patience whilst we are doing everything possible to speedily restore power supply.
