PLANNED TEMPORARY WATER INTERRUPTION – 27 June 2026 – All Areas

📍UPDATE 3: WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION FOR ENTIRE KIMBERLEY ON SATURDAY, 27 JUNE 2026

● Two 1200 valves are fully installed.

● The third valve should be done by 23h00.

● Work at Newton booster pumps done.

● We have some misalignment on the pipes from the tower, and this will take more time.

All efforts are aimed at ensuring water supply is restored in the morning of Sunday, 28 June 2026.

📍 UPDATE 2: PLANNED WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – TODAY, 06:00 TO 22:00

Progress update from Newton Reservoirs Complex:

* Two of the three 1200mm NB valves are on schedule. Teams are currently tightening bolts and nuts.
* Third valve: Unforeseen conditions were encountered. The concrete floor is being broken to allow for installation. This has negatively affected the initial completion schedule.
– Newton Tower pipework upgrades: Replacement work is still in progress but is slightly delayed.

Today’s operation at Newton Reservoirs forms part of the government’s investment through the Budget Facility for Infrastructure (BFI) into the repair and upgrade of bulk water supply infrastructure. This is aimed at guaranteeing a reliable future water supply.

📍UPDATE 1: PLANNED WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION OF TODAY – 06:00 TO 22:00

* With the pipeline emptied on time, the operation at Newton Reservoirs commenced on schedule at 06:00, with all the teams getting down to their assigned tasks.

• Two of the three (3) 1200 old valves have been cut off for installation of new ones at reservoir 102megalitres.

* The scope for today also includes pipework upgrades at the tower of the Newton Reservoirs Complex, and replacement work is in progress.

Today’s operation at Newton Reservoirs is part of the government’s investment through the Budget Facility for Infrastructure (BFI) into the repairs and upgrades of the bulk water supply infrastructure This is aimed at guaranteeing reliable future water supply.

⚠️ ALERT 1: WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION FOR ENTIRE KIMBERLEY ON SATURDAY, 27 JUNE 2026 – 06:00 TO 22:00

Notice is hereby given that a Planned Water Supply Interruption is scheduled for refurbishments at Newton Reservoirs:

• Installation of three new valves (1200 NB) at Reservoir 102 megalitres at Newton Reservoirs, and
• Newton Tower pipework upgrades (tower to cross section).

Interruption schedule:

* Date: Saturday, 27 June 2026
* Time: 06:00 to 22:00 (16 hours)

📍Please Store Water: Residents are urged to store sufficient water for essential use during the time of interruption.

Saturday’s operation at Newton Reservoirs is part of the government’s investment through the Budget Facility for Infrastructure (BFI) into repairs and upgrades of the bulk water supply infrastructure. This is aimed at guaranteeing reliable future water supply.
