NOTICE FROM SOL PLAATJE: Planned Temporary Electricity Interruption for the Leander Street Substation (parts of Herlear – Beaconsfield), Park Road Substation – Belgravia Area and Show Grounds Substation(Race course Only) on Saturday 12th November 2016 from 08:00 to 16:00.
The Sol Plaatje Municipality would like to alert Businesses, Schools, Places of Worship and Residents of a temporary electricity supply interruption, which is planned for the Saturday, 12th November 2016, from 08h00 to 16h00. The specific Substations and areas that will be affected include Leander Street Substation (parts of Helear – Beaconsfield), Park Road Substation – Belgravia Area and Show Grounds Substation(Race course Only). The main reason for the interruption is to conduct essential transformer maintenance in all these areas. The approximate time per sub-station is about two and a half hours.
The Municipality would like to urge residents and businesses in the affected areas to treat electrical appliances as “live” because the supply could be restored at an earlier time. Further details could be obtained from the Infrastructure Call Centre at 053 8306111 or SMS 44204. The municipality would like to apologise for the temporary inconvenience.
NB: These days have been chosen to ensure minimal disruptions and considering that final year examinations are already underway.
