The Emergency Services of the municipality has commenced with the creation of fire breaks (a gap in vegetation or other combustible material that acts as a barrier to slow or stop the progress of a bushfire or wildfire.) to prevent run away fires in residential areas falling within our municipal jurisdiction. Areas that will be targeted will include the Landfill site, Minerva Gardens, the Country Club in Cassandra, Eltoro Park, Petrus Street, Hillcrest, Southridge and many others with over grown grass adjacent to their properties. This is expected to last for the almost a month. Residents are kindly requested to close their windows during the duration of this operation in their areas. This will be done during the day period and we apologise for the inconvenience as a result this preventative work.
