UPDATE: 11 September 2022 – 18:45

It’s all systems go in Riverton, we have now started the 3rd pump. Areas getting water directly from the bulk lines (Roodepan and some parts of Galeshewe) will start receiving water 💧.

Newton will be opened as soon as water reaches the reservoir.

Residents are urged to open taps slowly to release air to avoid bursts.

We want to take this opportunity to thank the residents for their patience and understanding.

UPDATE: 11 September 2022 – 18:37

I have gone to the reservoir to see if there are any further updates available.

Riverton has been turned on but Newton is still off.

The team from Newton are waiting for the water to reach the reservoir before an estimated time for opening the water supply can be given.

Once supply is restored, it will still be a few hours until everyone on the Newton line has normal supply.

Water is available outside Newton for those in need.
