❗❗⚠️💧PLANNED TEMPORARY WATER INTERRUPTION 18-21 NOV 2021💧⚠️❗❗

Due to the recurring problem of water leaks as a result of aging infrastructure, residents of the city of Kimberley are advised of a planned Water Supply Interruption for the entire city from 6pm on Thursday 18 November 2021 to Sunday late afternoon 21 November 2021 to do the necessary repairs.
⚠️Kimberley Nightly Water Shutdown Status⚠️

In preparation for the upcoming Water Shutdown, Sol Plaatje have stated that they will proceed with nightly water interruptions from Saturday night, 13th November 2021 to boost the water reserves at Newton Reservoir Complex. The Reservoirs will be kept at full capacity and water will only be released into the network once supply from Riverton Purification Plant has been started.

Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (16 November 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 273 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 926 348. This increase represents a 0.9% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 15 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 89 504 to date.
18 962 806 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng (54%), followed by Western Cape (11%). KwaZulu-Natal accounted for 10%; Free State accounted for 7%; Mpumalanga accounted for 6%; North West accounted for 4%; Eastern Cape and Northern Cape each accounted for 3%; and Limpopo accounted for 1% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 16 NOVEMBER 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 7 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total currently stands at 92 790 people infected with COVID-19.
From the tests conducted in the past 24 hours, the Province average positivity rate (percentage of tests which are positive of COVID-19) was significantly low at 1.3%.
Distribution of today’s reported cases is as follows: ZF Mgcawu (3), Namakwa (3) and Pixley ka Seme (1) while in JT Gaetsewe and Frances Baard no new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.
Only one new COVID-19 related death was reported across the Province, which occurred in the past 72 hours from the Frances Baard district. The total cumulative deaths in the Province currently stand at 2 362.

The number of total active cases currently standing at 1 601. It should be mentioned that data verification is currently underway to address backlogs in all five districts.
The Province average recovery rate stand at 96%, representing a cumulative total of 88 825 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
