Residents of the City are advised of a planned Water Supply Interruption for the entire city from 24th June 2021 (Thursday night) to 26th June 2021 (Saturday night). The objective is to enhance security of water supply to the community and its surrounding areas.

Nightly Water Shutdown
Sol Plaatje have stated that Newton Reservoir pumps are turned off nightly until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
PLEASE NOTE: As in the past, sometimes water was switched off earlier than specified or switched on later than the times mentioned.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (21 June 2021), The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports that 9,160 new COVID-19 cases have been identified in South Africa, representing a 24.9 percent positivity rate. This brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 1,832,479. A further 93 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 58 795 to date.
12 586 342 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from the Gauteng province (69%), followed by the Western Cape (7%).
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 21 JUNE 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 297 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province total currently stand at 56 973 people.
In today’s update, Frances Baard recorded the highest COVID-19 infections with 85, followed by ZF Mgcawu (63), JT Gaetsewe (58), Namakwa (49) and Pixley ka Seme with 42 cases.
Today, there were seventeen (17) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the Province. These deaths are from: Frances Baard (10), JT Gaetsewe (1) and ZF Mgcawu (6). The Province total cumulative deaths stands at 1 321.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases currently decreased to 7 666.
Today, 858 recoveries were reported, this large number is due to the ongoing data cleaning by the districts. The Province average recovery rate stands at 84%, representing a cumulative total of 47 984 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
