TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – CBD: 24 Nov – 11 Dec 2020

ROADS will be closed for maintenance in the Kimberley CBD between 24 November 2020 and 11 December 2020. Sello Matsie, the spokesperson for Sol Plaatje Municipality, said that priority and main roads will also undergo periodic maintenance and intensive resealing.
Roads affected include sections of Quinn Street (between Phakamile Mabija & Lennox Street), Long Street (between Carters Road & Waterworks Road), Bultfontein and Quinn Streets.

Current dam levels are increasing, so no Nightly Shutdown is envisaged. Repairs are also being done on major pipe bursts. If anything changes, we will keep all updated.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (25 Nov 2020), the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases is 775 502 with 3 250 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative number of tests conducted to date is 5 355 068 with 29 437 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, In the last 24 hours, 118 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 51, Free State 24, Gauteng 7, Kwa-Zulu Natal 2, Limpopo 4 and Western Cape 30 which brings the total to 21 201 deaths
We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers that treated the deceased patients.
As National Department of Health, we have identified that there is a need to reconcile data in Gauteng Province.
We have brought this to the attention of the Province and they have indicated that they are in the process of harmonizing the data.
For this reason we will not be reporting the recoveries and active cases in the Province for today while we await the urgent conclusion of these processes
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 25 NOVEMBER 2020
The Minister of Health announced an additional 41 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 23 044 people.
No new COVID-19 related death was reported in the past 48 hours.
The number of recoveries stands at 19 449 with the recovery rate remaining 84%.
