ESKOM: Due to a shortage of generating capacity, it has become necessary to extend the implementation of Stage 3 loadshedding until further notice.

Sol Plaatje Municipality will be embarking on a planned water shutdown from Wednesday, 9 August 2023 at 18:00pm until Monday 14 August 2023 at 23:00pm due to excessive leaks and other work to be done on the water network.

The Sol Plaatje Municipality hereby gives notice that Cnr Waterworks & Jacobus Smit and Cnr Waterworks and Rogers Avenue will be temporarily closed from Tuesday 8 August 2023 from 5am till Tuesday 15 August 2023 5am to allow the Municipality to work on the Emergency Water Interruption.

To ensure continuous water supply, nightly shutdowns have be re-implemented from 20:00pm-04:00am daily until Newton Reservoir has reached full capacity. This is an interim intervention until the situation normalizes.
PLEASE NOTE: As in the past, sometimes water was switched off earlier than specified or switched on later than the times mentioned.
