ESKOM loadshedding stage 2 active until 05:00 on Saturday, 20 March 2021.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (18 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 533 961.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 556 404 with 31 550 tests completed since the last report.
Regrettably, we report a further 90 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 3, Free State 10, Gauteng 12, Kwa-Zulu Natal 14, Limpopo 33, Mpumalanga 5, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 13 which brings the total to 51 724 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 459 894 representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 18 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 120 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total now stand at 35 213 people. The five (5) previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province have been removed and re-allocated to correct areas as a result of the ongoing data verification.
In today’s report, Namakwa recorded the highest positive cases (60), followed by Frances Baard (20), ZF Mgcawu (18), Pixley ka Seme (14) and JT Gaetsewe (8). Hantam LM (Namakwa) continues to register the highest daily cases due to the ongoing localized outbreak, with 50 cases reported which account 42% of today’s Province total new cases.
There were no new COVID-19 related deaths reported today. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 791.

The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 270.
There were 13 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 91%, representing a cumulative total of 32 150 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
There were 84 people vaccinated today. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated is currently 4 486 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
