The Sol Plaatje Municipality calls on all residents to store enough water for critical use with immediate effect. We are experiencing excessive water losses from a leaking gasket at Mid-station near Roodepan which might plunge us into an emergency shutdown and disrupt the Planned Water Supply Interruption set for Thursday 04 April to Monday 08 April 2024.

The Sol Plaatje Municipality (“SPM”) wishes to inform residents that a Planned Water Supply Interruption will be effected from Thursday 04 April to Monday 08 April 2024 and will be preceded by an all-out-effort in raising awareness.

Nightly Interruptions will be effected – 20h00 until 05h00. The nightly water interruptions will continue in order to boost water levels at Newton Reservoirs.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 20:00 – 05:00 / 8pm – 5am
PLEASE NOTE: As in the past, sometimes water was switched off earlier than specified or switched on later than the times mentioned.

How to celebrate Puppy Day
Well the best way to celebrate puppy day is to spend time in the company of these small furry bundles of love. If you have love, space, and desire for puppies in your house then get down to a local pound to find yourself a puppy to share your life with! That’s right, a local pound or animal shelter, not a pet store or a ‘breeder’ found online. These have puppies who need your love and have been abandoned, and doing this helps to prevent puppy breeders from continuing their trade. This Puppy Day do your part to spread awareness of the plight of puppies, and the love they can bring to your home.
