Waterworks team is still busy with repairs in Phakamile Mabija str. There is good progress with the repairs, water will be restored as soon as they have completed the repairs.
At this stage there is no time mentioned for water restoration, but indications are good that water will possibly only be restored late tonight or tomorrow morning (Mon 29 Aug 2022)

The waterworks dept will work on 2 leaks in Phakamile Mabija Street this afternoon at 14:00 and in order for repairs to be done the Newton Reservoir will be switched off at 14:00 this afternoon (Sun 28 Aug 2022), residents will notice low pressure to no water, however water will be restored once repairs are complete.
Areas that will be affected are the CBD, New Park, Royldene, Hadison Park, El toro park, Hillcrest and other suburbs fed directly from the Reservoir.
