Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (21 August 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 14 312 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 666 964. This increase represents a 21.6% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 289 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 78 983 to date.
15 887 454 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal (29%), followed by Western Cape (27%). Eastern Cape accounted for 12%; Gauteng accounted for 10%; Free State and Mpumalanga accounted for 6% each; Northern Cape accounted for 4%; North West accounted for 3%; and Limpopo accounted for 2% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 21 AUG 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 438 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province has a cumulative total of 76 235 people infected with COVID-19.
ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest daily COVID-19 infections in the Province, with 143 new cases, followed by JT Gaetsewe (97), Namakwa (86), Frances Baard (67) and Pixley ka Seme with 44 cases. ZF Mgcawu continues to be the hardest hit district in the Province since the start of this week.
Today, there were seventeen (17) newly recorded deaths related to COVID-19 complications reported across the Province, occurring within the past 30 days. These deaths are from: Frances Baard (3), JT Gaetsewe (2), Namakwa (2), Pixley ka Seme (1) and ZF Mgcawu (😎 while 1 death is unallocated. The Province cumulative total deaths increased to 1 916.

The number of total active cases currently stand at 6 999.
There were 523 people reported to have recovered from the disease. The Province average recovery rate stands at 88%, representing a cumulative total of 67 318 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
