COVID-19 INFO

As of today (27 June 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 15,036 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 1,928,897. This increase represents a 26.9 % positivity rate. A further 122 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 59 900 to date.

12 968 748 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.

The Gauteng province accounts for the majority of new cases (66%), followed by the Western Cape (9%).

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 27 JUNE 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 197 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today, bringing the Province total to 58 537 people.
In today’s update, Frances Baard recorded the highest COVID-19 infections with 62, followed by Namakwa (46), JT Gaetsewe (33), Pixley ka Seme (28), and ZF (23) while 5 cases are unallocated.
Today, no newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the Province. The Province total cumulative remain at 1 366.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases currently stand at 7 462.
Today, 52 people were reported to have recovered from the disease. The Province average recovery rate stand at 85%, representing a cumulative total of 49 707 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
