COVID-19 INFO
As of today (27 May 2021), the cumulative number of cases reported in South Africa is 1 649 977 with 4 424 new cases reported over the past 24 hours.
The number of tests conducted to date is 11 495 627. Of these 43 442 tests were conducted since the last report.
In the last 24 hours, 93 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 17, Gauteng 42, Kwa-Zulu Natal 3, Limpopo 15, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 15 which brings the total to 56 170 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
The cumulative recoveries now stand at 1 548 092 representing a recovery rate of 93,8%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 27 May 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 430 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. With today’s reported cases, the Province has surpassed the 49 000 mark, bringing the total cumulative to 49 046 people.
In today’s update, Frances Baard continues to record the highest COVID-19 infections (168), followed by ZF Mgcawu (114), Pixley ka Seme (72), JT Gaetsewe (46) and Namakwa (19) while 11 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were no newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths reported. The Province total cumulative deaths remain 1 046.

The number of total active cases is currently standing at 7 669.
There were 132 people reported to have recovered from the disease, including recoveries from previous months due to delays in reporting and as a result of the ongoing data cleaning process aimed at addressing backlogs. The Province average recovery rate stand at 82%, representing a cumulative total of 40 329 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
