As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

How to Celebrate Goof Off Day
The most important part of celebrating Goof Off Day is that you aren’t required to do anything that doesn’t seem fun to you. Spending the day at work and aren’t really feeling like getting anything done?
(Who would on Goof Off Day) Then take some time and hang out at the water cooler chatting with your coworkers, hydration is important! Rather than mowing the lawn or doing other ‘important’ chores, take the kids out to the park and just relax in the outdoors.
Whatever you do on Goof Off Day, don’t let the poisonous idea that every day has to be productive get in the way of having a good time!

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (21 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 537 852.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 635 287 with 24 025 tests completed since the last report.
Today, 29 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 1, Gauteng 5, Kwa-Zulu Natal 7, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 3, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 12.
This brings the total to 52 111 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 463 089, representing a recovery rate of 95%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 21 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 168 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total now stand at 35 622 people.
Namakwa continues to record the highest daily positive cases, with 96 cases in today’s report, followed by Frances Baard (23), ZF Mgcawu and Pixley ka Seme with 17 cases each and JT Gaetsewe (14) while one (1) case is unallocated.
For the second day in succession, no new COVID-19 related deaths reported today. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 794.

The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 653.
The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 90%, representing a cumulative total of 32 173 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
The current round of vaccination was completed on Friday at Upington and will commence again next week in the Namakwa district. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated across the Province is currently 4 556 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
