As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (08 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 521 706.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 9 269 122 with 13 630 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 125 more COVID-19 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 0, Free State 31, Gauteng 8, Kwa-Zulu Natal 7, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 5, North West 46, Northern Cape 18 and Western Cape 10 which brings the total to 50 803 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 442 045, representing a recovery rate of 94,7%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS At 08 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 16 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province has a cumulative total of 34 379 people.
In today’s report, only Pixley ka Seme did not record any new positive case while the other four districts recorded 5 or fewer positive cases.
Sadly, there are eighteen (18) new COVID-19 related deaths reported today, all are from the previous months due to delays in reporting and the ongoing data mop-up to ensure all COVID-19 related deaths are accounted for. The newly reported deaths are: 8 x Nama Khoi LM, 5 x Hantam LM, 3 x Siyathemba LM, 1 x Richtersveld LM and 1 x Siyancuma LM.
The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 744.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases in the Province is standing at 2 028.
There were 28 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 92%, representing a cumulative total of 31 605 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
Today we vaccinated 176 people in the province. This brings the total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated to 4077 since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
