Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.

Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

TODAY IS VALENTINES DAY
Valentine’s Day originated as a Western Christian feast day honoring an early Saint named Valentine. It is still an official feast in some denominations, although the day was removed from the Catholic General Roman Calendar because not much information was known about the Saint. The day is now also a cultural and commercial holiday centered around romance and love. It is celebrated in many places around the globe, although it is not a public holiday. Symbols associated with the day are the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of a winged Cupid.
How to celebrate Valentines Day
Celebrate the day by giving valentines to your loved ones. You could buy some from the store, as is the norm, but writing them by hand will give them more meaning. If you have a significant other, make plans to spend the day with them. Do some of your favourite things together, or try something new. If you are single, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate the day. No matter if you are single or not, there are some films and songs perfectly meant for the day that can be enjoyed by everyone.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (13 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 490 063.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 672 596 with 31 149 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 151 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 3, Free State 15, Gauteng 29, Kwa-Zulu Natal 39, Mpumalanga 12, Northern Cape 1 and Western Cape 52 which brings the total to 47 821 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 385 996, representing a recovery rate of 93%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 13 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 99 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, with today’s new positive cases, the Province surpassed the 33 000 mark, bringing the cumulative total to 33 049 people. The two (2) previously confirmed cases that were wrongly allocated to the Province, have been removed in today’s report due to the ongoing data verification.
In today’s report, Frances Baard recorded the highest number of new positive cases (26), followed by JT Gaetsewe (22), ZF Mgcawu (20), Namakwa (19) and Pixley ka Seme with 12.
Sadly, there is one (1) new COVID-19 related death reported from Sol Plaatje LM in Frances Baard district, that occurred in the past 72 hours. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is now 621.
The number of total active cases in the Province currently stand at 3 665.
The Province average recovery rate is currently 87%, representing a cumulative total of 28 761 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
