Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am

Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

When you think about it, pennies are a real nuisance. They’re small and seemingly almost worthless, and despite putting them safely in your wallet or purse, they always seem to wind up blocking the filter on your washing machine, slipping down the sides of the cushions on your favourite armchair, or getting sucked up the vacuum cleaner.
Nevertheless, on one special day each year we can take the time to gather up those ever-wandering coins and finally do something more useful with them that we usually do by donating them to a charity of our choice. Lost Penny Day is the perfect day to take a moment to recognize that despite the fact that pennies may not seem like they are worth much, they can still be found and used to help those in need to whom each and every penny counts and adds up.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (11 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 1 484 900 with 2 488 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 605 729 with 32 265 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 237 more COVID-29 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 46, Free State 25, Gauteng 82, Kwa-Zulu Natal 36, Limpopo 12, Mpumalanga 19 and Western Cape 17. This brings the total to 47 382 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 377 980, representing a recovery rate of 92,8%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 11 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 93 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, this brings the Province cumulative total to 32 862 people. There is one (1) previously confirmed case that was wrongly allocated to another Province, which has been re-allocated back to the Northern Cape Province into the Nama Khoi LM, Namakwa district.
In today’s report, Pixley ka Seme recorded the highest number of new positive cases (23), followed by Frances Baard (21), Namakwa (20), ZF Mgcawu (15) and JT Gaetsewe (13) while 1 case is unallocated.
Today, there are no new COVID-19 related deaths reported, thus the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications remains at 613.
The number of total active cases in the Province currently stand at 3 540.
The Province average recovery rate is curently 87%, representing a cumulative total of 28 707 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
