Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: 03 JANUARY 2021 – 11:45 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (25 Jan 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 417 537 with 4 551 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 019 239 with 26 113 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, we report 243 more COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 65, Free State 18, Gauteng 33, Kwa-Zulu Natal 60, Mpumalanga 5, Northern Cape 5 and Western Cape 57.
This brings the total to 41 117 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 241 421, representing a recovery rate of 87,6%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 25 JANUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 126 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 31 084 people.
In today’s report, JT Gaetsewe recorded the highest number of positive cases (43), followed by ZF Mgcawu (33), Frances Baard (31), Pixley ka Seme (11) and Namakwa (8).
Sadly, we report five (5) additional COVID-19 related deaths, that occurred in the past 72 hours. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 551.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases stands at 4 475 in the Province.
The number of recoveries increased to 26 056 with the recovery rate of 84%.
