NOTICE: Planned Temporary Electricity Interruption for the Blackbeard Street Area, Hercules Street Substation, Edgar Davis Street Substation & Field Street Substation on Saturday 29th October 2016 from 08:00 to 16:00.
The Other Planned Temporary Electricity Interruption is planned for Sunday 30th October 2016 from 08:00 to 16:00 affecting Girls High School Substation and De Beers Substation.
The Sol Plaatje Municipality would like to alert Businesses, Schools, Places of Worship and Residents of a temporary electricity supply interruption planned for the Saturday, 29th October 2016, from 08h00 to 16h00. The specific areas that will be affected for Saturday include Blackbeard Street area, Hercules Street Substation, Edgar Davis Street Substation, Field Street Substation.
The other temporary electricity supply interruption planned for Sunday 30th October 2016 will be from 08h00 to 16h00 and will affect Girls High School Substation and De Beers Stadium Substation. The main reason for the interruption is to conduct essential transformer maintenance in all these areas. The approximate time per sub-station is about two and a half hours. The Municipality would like to urge residents and businesses in the affected areas to treat electrical appliances as “live” because the supply could be restored at an earlier time. Further details could be obtained from the Infrastructure Call Centre at 053 8306111 or SMS 44204. The municipality apologises for the temporary inconvenience. NB: These days have been chosen to ensure minimal disruptions and considering that final year examinations are already underway.
