Notice received from the Sol Plaatje Municipality.
Contractors from Lohan Construction are currently busy to repair a water pipe leak which they damaged while excavating to prepare for the installing a zone water meter and valve at the corner of West and South Circular streets.
The damage took place this morning and work is expected to be complete shortly.
The leak has affected several areas like CBD, Protea Big Hole and the Conference centre.
Motorists travelling in the vicinity are also requested to approach with caution as the road has been re- routed. Traffic officials will continue to be at hand during peak hours to assist in the channelling of traffic to alternatives routes.
The Sol Plaatje Municipality would like to apologise for the inconvenience due water interruption and the temporary road closure.
