⚠️ URGENT ALERT: WATER SUPPLY REDUCTION THIS WEEKEND DUE TO CRITICAL REPAIR WORK ON THE BULK PIPELINE
A leaking non-return valve on the 900 mm pipeline at Droogfontein (between Riverton and Midstation) must be urgently repaired.
To do this, the 900 mm line will be isolated and emptied. Water will only be pumped via the 600 mm line.
Repair work will commence on Friday 16 October at 22:00 until Sunday evening.
Newton Reservoir levels are satisfactory but will drop. No interruption is expected yet, but water shedding (low tap pressure) may be necessary if demand is high.
📍Please Use Water Sparingly This Weekend:
Residents are advised to store enough water for essential use from Friday morning of 16 October 2026 into the evening.
Equally, we urge residents to refrain from filling swimming pools, watering gardens, and washing cars over this weekend.
