WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTIONS
The Sol Plaatje Municipality would like to announce dates of Planned Water Supply Interruptions in the city for the following areas:
Phutanang Zone Meter, Thursday, 8th October 2015 and areas to be affected includes Phutanang, Snake Park and Transit Camp.
The Jacobus Smit Street Zone Meter, will take place on Tuesday, 13th October 2015 and water supply into Hillcrest, (Gariep Hospital) Hadison Park, Royldene and Roylglen will be affected.
Lastly the installation of a pipe special at the Shoprite Checkers Seochoareng street will take place on the Friday, 16th October 2015 and areas to be affected will be Galeshewe, Collville and Kimdustria.
All the water supply interruptions will commence at 8am till evening. The planned Interruptions will affect the specific areas mentioned to allow for implementation of zonal metering upgrades to be done on the network. This is a continuation of the work that was done earlier this year and as previously indicated, these interruptions will be area specific and not the whole city. We can also confirm that pre planning has been done and the sites prepared in advance to minimise the disruption. The days have been chosen because of the school holidays. We would like to give the assurance that everything is being done for a seamless execution of the repairs and instillations. Contingency plans have been prepared to ensure that static water tanks and mobile tanks will be deployed in the affected areas to supply water. This process will be managed by the Fire Emergency Services and the public can call the telephone numbers 053 8324211 in this regard. We apologise for the inconvenience.
