January Water Shutdown comes to and end

Water levels in the Newton Reservoir has been restored to an acceptable level of 16 feet and Sol Plaatje Municipality have notified Kimberley residents that the Nightly Water Shutdowns will come to and end for the time being.

Water Levels

The current water levels at our Newton Reservoirs is at full capacity, 262 megalitres/ 262 million litres of water equalling 16 feet. This has necessitated that we discontinue the nightly water shut downs and resume an uninterrupted supply of water to all residents.

Management of our water resources remains high priority and everything is being done to ensure high quality. From the filtration, storage capacity and management of our water reticulation network forms part of the focus of management including correct billing for water used.

We would like to express our appreciation for the cooperation received from all to conserve water.
