ALERT: NEWTON RESERVOIRS PUMPS SWITCHED-OFF DUE TO TWO LEAKS ON THE PRECINCT ON OUTGOING 300MM DIAMETER ASBESTOS PIPE
Teams from Waterworks have placed clamps on the first leak and are currently working on the second.
Restoration of Supply: At 22:00
Current Impact: Low water pressure in a number of high-lying suburbia and possibly no tap-flow in Newpark and neighbouring residential areas.

ALERT: WATER SUPPLY RESTORED TO LARGE PARTS OF KIMBERLEY (HIGH-LYING AREAS)
Status: Pumps at Newton Reservoirs are back in operation, having been switched off earlier, to allow for repair work to be undertaken in replacing a burst asbestos pipe in Du Toitspan Road.

The reason for little to no water in a large part of Kimberley is due to the Newton Reservoir being turned off.
This was done to allow Waterworks to make repairs to the burst pipe in Lennox Street.
