As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.
💧‼️ TEMPORARY WATER INTERRUPTION 28/01/2021 – Homevale Areas ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje have stated that due to the heavy rains, the excavation for the sewer pipeline has collapsed damaging a 250mm water main. Water will first be pumped out and then an assessment will be done to effect the necessary repairs.
Areas Affected: Homevale, Homelite & Homestead.
Timeframe for Water Restoration: UNKNOWN at this stage.
💧‼️ KIMBERLEY NIGHTLY WATER SHUTDOWN STATUS: 20/01/2021 – 18:28 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: 03 JANUARY 2021 – 11:45 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (28 Jan 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified on South Africa is 1 437 798.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 156 239 with 48 406 new tests conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, 555 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 150, Free State 10, Gauteng 70 , Kwa-Zulu Natal 249, Limpopo 7, Mpumalanga 21, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 45.
This brings the total to 43 105 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 272 197, representing a recovery rate of 88,3%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 28 JANUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 214 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 31 599 people.
In today’s report, ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest number of positive cases (58), followed by Frances Baard (50), Namakwa (49), Pixley ka Seme (32) and JT Gaetsewe (21) while 4 cases are unallocated.
Sadly, we report three (3) additional COVID-19 related deaths, all occurring in the past 72 hours. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 563.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases stands at 3 798 in the Province.
The number of recoveries increased to 27 236 with the recovery rate of 86%.
