As in previous occasions, should anything change regarding the grid, loadshedding could be implemented at short notice.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

TODAY IS PUPPY DAY
They’re fluffy and playful, they yip and bark and are just all-around adorable, and all they want is to be loved. What could we be talking about? That’s right, puppies! Puppy Day celebrates that most adorable of our four-footed friends, the baby canine, and it’s quite possibly the cutest day ever. It doesn’t matter the breed or gender, all puppies are the perfect solution to a terrible day.
They’ll cuddle and crawl and… well, occasionally pee all over everything… but they’re puppies! When Puppy Day comes around, you better be ready for a barking good time, there’s no way to avoid it when the day is about the ultimate ball of heart-melting fluff!
How to celebrate Puppy Day
Well the best way to celebrate puppy day is to spend time in the company of these small furry bundles of love. If you have love, space, and desire for puppies in your house then get down to a local pound to find yourself a puppy to share your life with! That’s right, a local pound or animal shelter, not a pet store or a ‘breeder’ found online. These have puppies who need your love and have been abandoned, and doing this helps to prevent puppy breeders from continuing their trade. This Puppy Day do your part to spread awareness of the plight of puppies, and the love they can bring to your home.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (22 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 538 451.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 649 219 with 13 932 tests completed since the last report.
Today, 85 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 1, Free State 2, Gauteng 5, Kwa-Zulu Natal 70, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 0 and Western Cape 7 which brings the total to 52 196 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 463 953, representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 22 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 29 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province cumulative total now stand at 35 650 people. The one (1) previously confirmed case that was wrongly allocated to the Province has been removed as a result of the ongoing data verification process.
Frances Baard and Pixley ka Seme recorded the highest daily positive cases with 7 each, followed by ZF Mgcawu (6), JT Gaetsewe (5) and Namakwa with 4 cases.
For the third day in succession, no newly-recorded COVID-19 related death was reported. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 794.

The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 656.
The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 90%, representing a cumulative total of 32 198 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated across the Province is currently standing at 4 556, since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
