ALERT: PLANNED TEMPORARY POWER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY, 08 JULY 2026, 09:00 – 11:00 – TYALA STREET SUBSTATION
Residents are hereby informed that the Planned Power Supply Interruption announced earlier on the Tyala Street Substation feeder has been postponed as follows;
Time: 09:00 to 11:00.
Reason: The planned outage is necessary to allow the Electrical Department to energise the new transformer serving the Santa (Zone 2) area.
Affected Residential Areas:Greater Number 2, Newtown, Shantytown, Sobantu, White City, Santa (Zone 2), Donkerhoek, John Daka, Tlhageng and Chris Hani Park.
Residents and customers in the affected areas are advised to treat all electrical installations and appliances as live during the outage period, as electricity supply might be restored earlier than the scheduled time.
