ESKOM: Due to insufficient emergency reserves and generation capacity as a result of four units not returning to service as planned, Stage 4 loadshedding was implemented this morning at 02:31until further notice. Eskom will monitor the system and communicate should any significant changes occur.

The Municipality has made changes for opening water in the morning for the Kimberley CBD and the water will be opened at 03h00 in the morning to allow enough pressure in the line and full coverage.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 21:00 – 03:00 / 9pm – 3am
PLEASE NOTE: As in the past, sometimes water was switched off earlier than specified or switched on later than the times mentioned.

At the end of the day, what’s being celebrated is the freedom that the development of transportation has afforded us, and this is what we should take care to enjoy on this day. What is your favorite mode of transportation? Depending on where you live in the world, you could spend this day traveling somewhere into the unknown by boat, plane, helicopter, car, motorcycle, rollerskates, skateboard, or even more old-fashioned modes of transport, like by horse, sleigh, or horse-drawn carriage.
