Man arrested for Vehicle Break-in – Kimberley CBD

Members of Kimberley Crime prevention police arrested a 37-year-old man, following the break-in, into a vehicle which was parked in the Kimberley CBD. Suspect was arrested after the owner of the vehicle reported to the police about his vehicle which was broken-into while he went into one of the local store in the CBD.

The suspects smashed the rear doors’ window and grabbed the video camera and binoculars, which were put on the back seat of the vehicle.

The suspect was found in possession of a video camera while trying to sell it at the taxi rank. Other suspect fled and abandoned the binoculars when he realised that his accomplice was arrested. He abandoned the binoculars inside the taxi and fled on foot.

The police have been on the arrested suspect’s trail in connection with warrants of arrest, which were issued against him. He will appear before the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, on a charge of a theft out of motor vehicle.

Motorists are urged to always lock their valuable items inside the boot the vehicles, to keep them out of the sight of the criminals. To detach the face of the Compact Disc Receiver; to keep doors and windows always properly locked and closed.
