After all, all it takes is a simple piece of paper and a few clever folds, and you can create an airplane all on your own as well! COVID-19 INFO
As of today (25 May 2021), the cumulative number of cases reported in South Africa is 1 640 932 reflecting a 0,19% increase, with 3 084 new cases reported over the past 24 hours.
The number of tests conducted to date is 11 378 282. Of these 23 352 tests were conducted since the last report.
There are currently 41 005 active cases in the country, reflecting a 0,69% increase in active cases over the past 24 hours.
The national case fatality rate (CFR) as of 25th of May 2021 is 3,4%. The total cumulative number of deaths 55 976 reflecting an increase of 102 reported deaths as of 18:00.
Of the reported deaths 25,5% (26) occurred in the past 48 hours.
In the last 24 hours, 102 deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 3, Free State 32, Gauteng 36, KwaZulu-Natal 11, Limpopo 0, Mpumalanga 0, North West 0, Northern Cape 19 and Western Cape 1 which brings the total to 55 976 deaths – reported as at 18:00.
Nationally, the cumulative number of recoveries increased by 0,18% in the past 24 hours, to 1 543 951. This represents a recovery rate of 94,1%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 25 May 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 254 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. This brings the total cumulative to 48 186 people in the Province.
In today’s update, ZF Mgcawu recorded the highest COVID-19 infections (106), followed by Frances Baard (97), Pixley ka Seme (28), JT Gaetsewe (15), and Namakwa with 7 cases while 1 case is unallocated.
Today, there were nineteen (19) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths that occurred in previous months due to delayed reporting. These new deaths are from: 17 x Frances Baard, 1 x JT Gaetsewe and 1 x Unallocated. The Province total cumulative deaths increases to 1 046.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases is currently standing at 8 040.
There were 133 people reported to have recovered from the disease, including recoveries from previous months due to delays in reporting. The Province average recovery rate stand at 81%, representing a cumulative total of 39 098 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
