ESKOM: Stage 1 loadshedding active and to continue until 05:00 on Saturday, 20 March 2021, as the power system is still severely constrained.
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: ‼️💧
In a media release by Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo, it was mentioned that the water supply will be interrupted in low lying areas at 18h00 till 05h00 whilst high lying areas will be interrupted at 20h00 to 05h00. Residents should however still use water sparingly otherwise the water situation will not return to normal and also to prevent possible earlier shutoff at Newton Reservoir if the need arises.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (16 Mar 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases for South Africa is 1 530 966.
The cumulative total of tests conducted is 9 490 435 with 24 920 tests completed since the last report.
Regrettably, we report a further 139 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 2, Free State 13, Gauteng 29, Kwa-Zulu Natal 20, Limpopo 57, Mpumalanga 6, North West 0, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 9, which brings the total to 51 560 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased.
Our cumulative recoveries today stand at 1 458 001 representing a recovery rate of 95%.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 16 MARCH 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 33 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape today. The Province has a cumulative total of 34 965 people. There is one (1) previously confirmed case that has been re-allocated back into Province (Phokwane LM) after wrongly being allocated to another Province.
In today’s report, Frances Baard had the highest positive cases (14), followed by ZF Mgcawu (9), (11) with the three districts reporting less than 5 positive cases. There is one case which is unallocated.
There were three (3) new COVID-19 related deaths reported today, all from previous months due to delays in reporting. These new deaths comes from the Magareng LM, Frances Baard district. The Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications is currently standing at 789.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases in the Province is currently standing at 2 080.
There were 18 people reported to have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. The Province average recovery rate currently stands at 92%, representing a cumulative total of 32 093 people who have recovered from COVID-19.

VACCINES SAVE LIVES – VACCINATION ROLL-OUT
There were 19 people vaccinated today. The total number of Healthcare Workers vaccinated is currently 4 375, since the vaccination campaign started on 17 February 2021.
