Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

As of today (6 July 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, reports 15,501 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,090,909. This increase represents a 26.2% positivity rate, which is lower than yesterday (31.6%).
As per the National Department of Health, a further 457 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 62,628 to date.
13 548 841 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng (59%), followed by Western Cape (10%). Kwa-Zulu Natal accounted for 8%; North West accounted for 6%; Mpumalanga accounted for 5%; Eastern Cape and Limpopo each accounted for 4%; Free State accounted for 3%; and Northern Cape accounted for 1% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 06 JULY 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 123 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. This brings the Province total to 60 454 people. For the second day, the number of new cases reported is lower than 200, this could be attributed to the effect of low testing during the weekend.
Frances Baard recorded the highest COVID-19 infections with 34; followed by Pixley ka Seme and ZF Mgcawu with 31 and 30 cases, respectively; JT Gaetsewe (21) and Namakwa (5) while 2 cases are unallocated.
Today, there were twenty-two (22) newly recorded COVID-19 related deaths reported across the Province. These deaths are from: Frances Baard (7), JT Gaetsewe (1) and Namakwa (14). The Province total cumulative deaths increased to 1 424.

The number of total active cases decreased below the 5 000 mark, currently standing at 4 861 due to improved recovery rate and low incidence rates.
Today, 577 people were reported to have recovered from the disease, this includes recoveries from previous month due to data verification. The Province average recovery rate has increased to 90%, representing a cumulative total of 54 167 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
