Even though there is currently no loadshedding, there remains a high risk to the system and loadshedding could again be implemented at short notice.
Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%, sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (18 October 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 210 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2 916 803. This increase represents a 1.4% positivity rate.
As per the National Department of Health, a further 7 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 88 619 to date.
18 189 273 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.
The majority of new cases today are from Gauteng Province (37%), followed by KwaZulu-Natal (19%), and Western Cape (16%). Free State accounted for 7%; North West accounted for 6%; Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga accounted for 5% each; Limpopo and Northern Cape each accounted for 2% of today’s new cases.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 18 OCTOBER 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 15 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province cumulative total currently stands at 92 014 people infected with COVID-19.
In today’s update, Frances Baard reported the highest infections with 8 cases, followed by Pixley ka Seme (3), while JT Gaetsewe and Namakwa had 2 cases each, and in ZF Mgcawu no new infections were recorded.
Today, there were no new deaths (related to COVID-19 complications) reported across the Province. The Province total cumulative deaths currently stand at 2 233.

The number of total active cases currently stands at 2 145.
The Province average recovery rate remain 95%, representing a cumulative total of 87 636 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
