Sol Plaatje have stated that the current reservoir levels are quite low. As a result thereof Nightly Water Shutdowns will continue until an adequate water level is achieved.
Time of Nightly Water Shutdown: 22:00 – 04:00 / 10pm – 4am
💧‼️ CURRENT WATER STATUS: 03 JANUARY 2021 – 11:45 ‼️💧
Sol Plaatje Municipality is currently struggling to maintain adequate water levels at the Newton Reservoir. Please be prepared for low to no water pressure at all times. Adequate and timely communication is not forthcoming from Sol Plaatje Municipality.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (02 Feb 2021), the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 458 958 with 2 649 new cases identified since the last report.
The cumulative total of tests conducted to date is 8 329 691 with 28 942 new tests recorded since the last report.
Regrettably, 547 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Eastern Cape 68, Free State 30, Gauteng 91, Kwa-Zulu Natal 143, Limpopo 134 (the province captured deaths from retrospective audits between 6 September and 29 January 2020), Mpumalanga 9, Northern Cape 3 and Western Cape 69.
This brings the total deaths to 44 946.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who treated the deceased patients.
Our recoveries now stand at 1 318 504, representing a recovery rate of 90%
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS At 02 FEBRUARY 2021
The Minister of Health announced an additional 15 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, this brings the Province cumulative total to 32 072 people.
In today’s report, Frances Baard recorded the highest number of new positive cases (5), followed by ZF Mgcawu (4), Pixley ka Seme (3), JT Gaetsewe (2) and Namakwa (1).
Sadly, we report three (3) additional COVID-19 related deaths, all occurred earlier in the past month due to delays in reporting. With these new deaths, the Province total cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications now stands at 586.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases stands at 3 785 in the Province.
The number of recoveries increased slightly to 27 699 with the recovery rate of 86%.
