TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – CBD: 24 Nov – 11 Dec 2020

ROADS will be closed for maintenance in the Kimberley CBD between 24 November 2020 and 11 December 2020. Sello Matsie, the spokesperson for Sol Plaatje Municipality, said that priority and main roads will also undergo periodic maintenance and intensive resealing.
Roads affected include sections of Quinn Street (between Phakamile Mabija & Lennox Street), Long Street (between Carters Road & Waterworks Road), Bultfontein and Quinn Streets.

Current dam levels are increasing, so no Nightly Shutdown is envisaged. Repairs are also being done on major pipe bursts. If anything changes, we will keep all updated.

You could cut down your own or buy a real one in a parking lot, at a store, or anywhere else where they are sold in your community. If a real tree doesn’t suit you, pick up an artificial one. Decorate your tree with lights, ornaments, garland, tinsel, or whatever else you would like.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today (07 Dec 2020), the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases is 817 878 with 3 313 new cases identified since the last report.
A cumulative 5 611 915 tests have been completed, of which 19 252 have been conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, 43 more COVID-19 related deaths have been reported: Free State 9, Gauteng 2, KwaZulu Natal 5, Northern Cape 1 and Western Cape 26 which brings the total to 22 249 deaths
We extend our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers that treated the deceased patients.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 07 DECEMBER 2020
The Minister of Health announced an additional 36 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 23 462 people.
Sadly, today we report 1 new COVID-19 related death, from Ga-segonyana sub-district, John Taolo Gaetsewe district. With today’s update, the Province cumulative deaths due to COVID-19 complications stands at 326.
The number of recoveries stands at 20 998 with recovery rate remaining at 89%.
