Smoke at Homevale Waste Treatment Plant – 11/01/2018

The fire department is continuing with efforts to extinguish the fire at the sludge ponds of Homevale Treatment Plant. Smoke is still smouldering but all efforts are being made to flood the ponds with water and alternatively we might have to remove the affected areas like last year when the same happened. We call on the public to take pre caution where possible and also to prevent veld fires.
