Kimberley Sol Plaatje Municipal Rates & Tariffs for 2021/22 – as from 1 July 2021
Rates increase by 4,0%, electricity by 14,59% (domestic), water by 4,0%,  sanitation by 4,0% and cleansing/refuse collection by 4,0%.

COVID-19 INFO

As of today (5 September 2021), the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service reports 5,931 new COVID-19 cases that have been identified in South Africa, which brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 2,819,945. This increase represents a 14.5% positivity rate.

As per the National Department of Health, a further 76 COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 83,419 to date.

16,749,709 tests have been conducted in both public and private sectors.

The majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal (29%), followed by Western Cape (23%). Eastern Cape accounted for 15%; Free State and Gauteng Province each accounted for 9% respectively; Northern Cape each accounted for 6%; Mpumalanga and North West each accounted for 4% respectively; and Limpopo Province accounted for 1% of today’s new cases.

NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 05 SEP 2021
The National Department of Health announced an additional 385 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape in the past 24 hours. The Province has a cumulative total of 84 208 people infected with COVID-19.
Namakwa recorded today’s highest infections in the Province, with 135 cases; followed by Frances Baard (95), ZF Mgcawu (85), JT Gaetsewe (41) and Pixley ka Seme (26) while 5 cases are unallocated.
Today, only one (1) death (related to COVID-19 complications) was reported from Namakwa district, occurred in the last 72 hours. The Province total cumulative deaths increased to 2 018.
We convey our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to the families and loved ones of the departed.
The number of total active cases dropped below the 8 000 mark, standing at 7 241.
There were 1 759 people reported to have recovered from the disease (including backlog due delays in reporting). The Province average recovery rate increased to 89%, representing a cumulative total of 74 947 people who have recovered from COVID-19.
