TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – CBD: 24 Nov – 11 Dec 2020

ROADS will be closed for maintenance in the Kimberley CBD between 24 November 2020 and 11 December 2020. Sello Matsie, the spokesperson for Sol Plaatje Municipality, said that priority and main roads will also undergo periodic maintenance and intensive resealing.
Roads affected include sections of Quinn Street (between Phakamile Mabija & Lennox Street), Long Street (between Carters Road & Waterworks Road), Bultfontein and Quinn Streets.

Current dam levels are increasing, so no Nightly Shutdown is envisaged. Repairs are also being done on major pipe bursts. If anything changes, we will keep all updated.

TODAY IS NOODLE RING DAY
With Christmas so close around the corner, in December it’s easy to overlook some of the most unusual days honoring some of the more unusual foodstuffs. But this time of year is just as good a time as any to learn about noodle rings, and celebrate just how tasty they are!
A noodle ring is, rather predictably, made from noodles – especially the flat, tagliatelle type egg noodles. It’s made using a ring mold, or a Bundt tray, with ingredients including cheese, eggs, and flour along with the noodles. When it’s pressed out of its tray, you’ve got a thick ring of delicious noodles baked to perfection.
How to celebrate Noodle Ring Day
If you’ve got the right ring mold (or, as its more commonly called, a Bundt tray), then you’re all set to celebrate this stylish-looking pasta meal. It works best with long, flat egg noodles, but you can use any kind of pasta that you like.

COVID-19 INFO
As of today, (10 Dec 2020), a cumulative total of 836 764 cases have been reported with 8 166 new cases.
A cumulative 5 735 470 tests have been completed, of which 45 207 have been conducted since the last report.
Regrettably, we report 173 more COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 90, Free State 13, Gauteng 8, Kwa-Zulu Natal 10 and Western Cape 52 which brings the total to 22 747 deaths.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health workers that treated the deceased patients.
NORTHERN CAPE COVID-19 STATISTICS AS AT 10 DECEMBER 2020
The Minister of Health announced an additional 59 people testing positive for COVID-19 in the Northern Cape, bringing the cumulative total to 23 576 people.
No new COVID-19 related deaths were reported in the last 48 hours, the Province cumulative deaths stands at 333.
The number of recoveries stands at 21 023 with recovery rate remaining at 89%.
